An award-winning solo show by Ravi the PoetPart music, part storytelling, part open-hearted confession, For My Family, And Yours is a powerful one-person performance that asks: Who are the people that shaped you?
Drawing on personal stories, the show invites audiences to reflect on their own memories with loved ones, and the many reasons we have to say thank you to those who matter most. Balancing laughter and tears, it offers moments of joy, connection and lovely conversations.
Audiences have described it as moving, healing, and deeply human. Embraced by communities across Aotearoa, it has received multiple Fringe Festival awards for its emotional clarity and courage.This is a show for anyone who wants to celebrate their loved ones, honour the unseen acts of care around us, and open their hearts a little wider.

A creative gratitude workshopInspired by his award-winning solo show, Ravi the Poet leads a gentle, reflective workshop to help participants unlock old memories, spark meaningful conversations, and celebrate the people who’ve shaped them.Through guided prompts, music and shared kōrero, we'll explore the moments and loved ones that deserve a moment of gratitude. You’ll leave with a small, heartfelt takeaway, a postcard, a letter or a voice note ready to be sent.No writing experience needed. Just bring a willing heart, a little time, and someone in mind you’re grateful for.This workshop is ideal for:- Mental health and wellbeing organisations
- Schools, youth programmes, and community spaces
- Retirement villages and elder care centres
Duration: ~60–90 minutes
Group size: Flexible (ideal range: 6–20 participants)
Format: Can be adapted for seated group discussion, one-on-one support, or classroom delivery

THE ARTIST

Ravi the Poet is a self-taught songwriter and performer blending spoken word, acoustic songwriting, and storytelling raps. Emerging from Auckland’s open mic scene, he creates authentic music/theatre hybrid shows marked by heartfelt courage and honesty.He’s toured successfully at NZ Fringe Festivals and performed at Asian Kiwiana, Wearable Arts, and climate change-focused events. His music includes Bike Ride, exploring climate change through a bike ride; Summer Fun, a nostalgic look at childhood; and My Mother, a duet with his sister celebrating their parents’ anniversary.Beyond performing, Ravi is an experienced event organiser and creative all-rounder, equally skilled with tech gear and heartfelt songwriting. Driven by sincerity and sensitivity, he’s dedicated to creating art that resonates deeply and brings people together.

THE MUSIC

Specialising in gentle, lyric-first, heartfelt pieces, the music is a blend of spoken word, acoustic songwriting, and storytelling rap.His songs are warm, reflective, and rooted in love and appreciation for the journeys we all take.
